Elevate physical therapy

About Maeve Talbot, PT, DPT

Maeve is a doctor of physical therapy with years of dance training, including graduating with a BFA in dance and choreography from VCU. She continued to teach, dance, and perform for several years. She then earned her DPT from Mary Baldwin University, where she presented research at international conferences focused on dance medicine science. Upon graduating, she moved to Chicago where she provided performing arts physical therapy to local theater performers, The Joffrey Ballet, Hubbard Street, and international dance companies. Her latest role was touring full time with the Broadway production of Mean Girls the first national tour as their on-site physical therapist.

Performers have a different set of demands and requirements than traditional athletes, which means their rehab process should be addressed with those in mind. The high number of training hours place dancers at a high risk of injury. Traditional physical therapy is often set up to address an injury after it occurs. At Elevate Physical Therapy, we are trying to address overuse symptoms and compensations before an injury happens.

Maeve has the training in both dance and physical therapy to provide dancers with elevated care to help them return to their goals.

Maeve is a licensed and insured physical therapist in VA, GA, and NY
